Book A TripFly fishing has been my lifelong passion, one that I’ve transformed into a rewarding career. With over 20 years of experience, I specialize in sight fishing—a thrilling moment where angler and guide share the excitement of "The Eat." Whether you’re an experienced fly fisher or just starting out, I aim to create unforgettable experiences that connect you with the beauty and excitement of the sport.
Guiding full time along with a team of 2 other capt's across the North Shore of Long Island Sound, the North Fork, and Montauk, we explore some of the most productive waters in the region. These areas are renowned for their white sand flats and abundant fish, offering the perfect backdrop for targeting striped bass, bluefish, and false albacore.
Spring and early summer mark peak fly fishing in the shallows on Long Island, with Striped Bass flooding the flats of Peconic Bay and the surrounding waters. The East End offers world-class opportunities, from the shallow, gin-clear waters of Shelter Island and Sag Harbor to the rich fishing grounds near Orient Point, Greenport, East Hampton, and Montauk Point.
With increasing bait activity, these months provide excellent sight-fishing conditions, especially along the North Fork and South Fork. The region’s pristine estuaries and tidal currents create the perfect environment for targeting Stripers on the fly. Long Island’s spring fly fishing experience is truly unmatched, offering both thrilling action and a scenic, unforgettable backdrop.
As summer peaks and water temperatures rise, fish begin their migration from the shallow flats to deeper, cooler waters, setting the stage for some of the most exciting fly fishing of the season. This period calls for launching larger boats into the dynamic tides of Block Island Sound, where the idea of "summer doldrums" simply doesn’t exist.
The cold, oxygen-rich currents keep fish highly active, offering thrilling opportunities for anglers in pursuit of trophy-sized Striped Bass, Bluefish, and False Albacore on the fly. With every tide shift, the chance for a record-breaking catch increases, making each outing a high-energy pursuit of Long Island’s summer giants. Whether you're chasing blitzing fish on the surface or working deep structures, July through September is prime time for unforgettable fly fishing adventures.
As north winds cool the air and fish begin their fall migration, Long Island’s waters come alive with some of the most exhilarating fly fishing action of the year. False albacore, known for their blistering speed, dominate the scene, while striped bass blitzes create non-stop excitement from Orient Point to Montauk Point.
This is the prime season for explosive topwater action, as baitfish push inshore and predatory fish aggressively feed before winter. If you’ve never experienced Long Island’s legendary fall run, it’s a must. The sight of schooling fish, the adrenaline rush of hooking into an Albie on the fly, and the crisp autumn mornings make September through November the ultimate time for a fly fishing adventure.
For fly anglers, South Florida is the ultimate proving ground—a place where skill, patience, and precision are put to the test. This region is famous for its migratory Tarpon, elusive Bonefish, and the never-ending pursuit of Permit on the fly.
The dynamic flats and tidal movements create a challenging yet rewarding experience, drawing both seasoned and aspiring anglers eager to land a bucket-list catch. If you’re looking to push your limits and experience some of the best flats fishing in the world, South Florida’s fishing grounds offer unparalleled action and opportunity.
When it comes to chasing stripers and false albacore off the coast of Long Island from Greenport to Montauk and the surrounding waters around Orient point the 25t is the ultimate fly fishing vessel, offering unmatched stability, speed, and fishability.
